Rostered Minister Forms

Seminary Debt Reduction

We are excited to share with you the Seminary Debt Reduction Application for Rostered Ministers.

Please note that this is a revised application, and terms of the grant have been amended following work of the task force in consultation with Bishop Constanze and approval by the Synod Executive Council.  The new language reads as follows:

This award is not to be considered a loan, or contingent on years of service in South Dakota. However, I understand that in making this award, the committee does so on behalf of the South Dakota Synod in recognition and appreciation for my ministry and with the hope that my call to serve in South Dakota is long and blessed.

Applications must be received by October 30, 2020.  The Seminary Debt Reduction Committee will meet in November, with payments made directly to your lending institution sometime before the end of the year.  Please be aware that while we will include specific instructions with the check, it is your responsibility to verify that the loan company properly applies this grant to the principal of your loan balance, and not as a credit for future payments.

You may return your application by October 30 via mail, fax or SECURE email to protect your personal and financial information.  If you have questions about the application or concerns regarding the security of your email server, please contact Kathy McHenry at kmchenry@sdsynod.org or 605.274.5030.
