Speakers and Musicians

Pastor Jay Gamelin

Jay Gamelin has been teaching groups for over 10 years about the growing disconnect between the churches that have advanced through the print age of Modernism and the visual age of post-Modernism. He has been a keynote speaker in 37 synods and interdenominational events as well overseas. He has published articles in a variety of print and web magazines on the postmodern church and was the preacher at the closing worship of the ELCA National Youth Gathering. He was pastor to Jacob’s Porch, a trans-denominational campus church at Ohio State University and currently serves at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Lexington SC. Jay is married to Tia and has three sons, Abel, Free, and Jude. Jay loves to run, Coen brothers movies, chopping wood, ketchup, and non sequiturs.

Justin Rimbo

Justin Rimbo is the Music and Band Director at Jacob’s Well, a church on the south side of Minneapolis, MN. He also makes regular appearances as the Worship-Artist-in-Residence at Humble Walk Lutheran Church in St. Paul, and works with several other churches across the country. Justin writes curriculum material for publishers such as Augsburg Fortress, and articles for publications like LivingLutheran.com and Seeds for the Parish, and spends a whole lot of time thinking about how to give people the chance to sing. In the middle of all of that, Justin works from home and helps to raise Owen and Zoe, who are respectively 4 years old and 1 year old, depending on when you read this. Justin’s wonderful wife Angie does a lot of the raising too. Justin loves indigenous worship songs that are 5 words long but take on a deeper significance when you sing them over and over. He also loves food, going to baptisms, public radio, books, television and changes of season.

The Rev. Linda Norman

Linda Norman is the treasurer of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). Norman graduated from Trinity University in San Antonio in 1997 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. She earned a Master of Science degree in accounting, also from Trinity, in 1998 and her CPA in 1999. She received her Master of Divinity in 2006 from the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago and accepted a call at Bethel Lutheran Church in Chicago where she served until 2009. Linda Norman remains a member of Bethel Lutheran Church.
