The Receptionist is the face of First Lutheran, as the receptionist is the first person the members and visitors see when entering the church during the week. The receptionist should be pleasant, professional, and helpful to anyone who enters the church. Kindness and respect are essential in the handling of the variety of people who enter First Lutheran. Receptionist – First Lutheran Church, Sioux Falls

The part-time Kitchen Coordinator is responsible for planning, shopping, and preparing meals within a limited budget. This role involves maintaining accurate records of food expenses and income from meal payments, managing inventory, organizing and leading a team of volunteers, and ensuring compliance with all sanitation and safety standards. Currently, this position preps weekly Wednesday night meals, monthly Free Lunch for High School  Students and Staff, occasional brunches, and funerals. The position requires flexibility for occasional weekend meal preparation and the ability to collaborate with various church ministries, primarily from September through May.

This full-time position provides leadership and support of FLC’s ministry with those in the “first third” of life, their families, and our cross-generational community of faith. This full-time position provides support for FLC’s ministry among our congregational community. Two-thirds of this role will support children, youth, and family ministry. The other third will support wider congregational life through digital communication and volunteer and small group coordination. This role requires planning and organizing skills, effective communication, an ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities, and a desire to work as part of a team.
