Nicaragua

Heavenly Father: Bless the people of Nicaragua with Christmas gifts of peace and hope. Bless Bishop Victoria Cortez as she leads the ILFE (Iglezia Luterana Fe y Esperanza) church for service to build the well-being of the rural communities in which it has a presence. Bless the community health volunteers, the agricultural work in irrigation and poultry production, and the community of people affected by AIDS. Bless Missionary Pastor Soliette Lopez Ortega as she assumes the role of South Dakota-Nicaragua missionary. Be with the church as they prepare for their January Youth Congress. Bless those seeking safe embrace of political dialogue in their land. Prepare the way for those from South Dakota who will visit our partners in 2019. We pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Cameroon

Heavenly Father: We ask your blessing on the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Cameroon. Bless Bishop NGOZO Rueben and all the leaders of this church. Give them vision to guide their people in the way of peace. Give voice and wisdom to those seeking for fruitful cooperation between the people of the Northwest and Southwest Regions (English speakers) and the French speaking majorities in the other eight regions of Cameroon. Bless M. Sanda Elie as he serves his sixth and final year as the ELCA overseer of the financial projects in Cameroon and Central African Republic. Bless the healing work of the four church hospitals in Ngaoundere, Garoua Boulai, Ngaoubela, and Bankim. Bless the over eighty congregations who worship in churches covered with roofs provided by donors from our South Dakota Synod. We pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
