Week 4: Pueblo de Dios
Today, we journey together in Lent with Pueblo de Dios and The Naomi Project of Sioux Falls. Pastor Maria sits down with Jordan Bruxvoort, Director of the Naomi Project, and reflects on Isaiah 10:1-2.
The purpose of the Naomi Project is to educate workers, especially immigrant workers, about what their rights are in the workplace and how they can exercise these rights. This purpose will be accomplished through workers’ rights trainings held throughout the community and open to everyone, and through outreach to workers on the street and at their place of work. Additional support and training will be provided to any worker who wants to develop a plan to address rights’ violation in their work place such as wage and hour and health and safety violations. In each of these situations, additional questions will be asked to determine if this person is also a victim of labor trafficking.
