Week 4: Pueblo de Dios

Reflexion de semana santa o cuaresma.
Cuaresma, es el tiempo que precede y se dispone antes de celebrar a la pascua, tiempo de escuchar la palabra de Dios tiempo de preparación para un bautismo de reconciliacion con DIOS y con los hermanos y hemanas en cristo tiempo de recurrir a las armas de la penitencia cristiana: la oración y el ayuno
Para algunos otros es tiempo de conversion, tiempo de cambio
Para otros es mas profundo el sacramento de los cuarenta días examinan mas a profundidad el misterio del éxodo y concentran mas su atención en la pasión y muerte del señor.
Hace un año comenzamos con este virus que paralizo al mundo entero,nos mantuvo encerrados por meses a muchos los dejo sin trabajo, algunos pasamos a ser victimas de este contagio en fin todos resultamos perjudicados por este virus tan poderoso.
En estos momentos que estamos comenzando la cuaresma podemos ver el sufrimiento que tuvo que pasar Chucho ( asi se le llama a los que llevan el nombre de Jesus en Mexico ) que a pesar de ser un rey el hijo del altisimo vino a padecer y morir aquí en la tierra Jesus que era perfecto y padecio por la maldad de la humanidad.
Dentro de mi congregación yo puedo ver que mi gente sufre, el cambio de país ,la barrera del idioma sufren de hambre falta de vivienda, falta de oportunidad en el trabajo, el racismo y el mal trato entre nuestra misma raza mi gente sufre y se queja los mexicanos cuando estamos pasando una mala situación siempre usamos esta frase si a Jesucristo que era el hijo de Dios lo sacrificaron que nos espera al resto de la humanidad.
Sufrimos dentro de estos tiempos de calamidad, pero a la vez vemos que el sacrificio de Jesus no fue en vano durante los primeros meses de pandemia para los miembros de pueblo de Dios fueron tiempos difíciles debido a que trabajan en hoteles y restaurantes lugares que dejaron de operar debido a la falta de clientes o algunos cerraron por meses y muchos se quedaron sin trabajo.
Pero dentro de estos tiempos difíciles para la comunidad latina ahí vimos también el amor y la misericordia de Dios para con la comunidad latina vimos como cristo Jesus caminaba con nosotros en cada momento vimos el amor del projimo hacia nuestra comunidad en cuanto mandamos un correo electrónico a nuestras iglesias hermanas resivimos su respuesta con donaciones gracias a estas donaciones pudimos alimentar hasta cuarenta familias por semana por que estoy hablando de esto por que esto fortacelicio mucho la fe de algunos miembros de nuestra congregación y trajo una familia nueva a la iglesia para mi una familia nueva significa mucha ya que en estos tiempos es muy difícil que la gente se interese en la palabra de Dios especialmente mi comunidad latina que piensan solo en trabajar para salir adelante en este país.
En este tiempo de cuaresma nuestra meta como congregación es recordar que Jesus murió para pagar por nuestros pecados, y nosotros estamos aquí para continuar con el ministerio de seguir haciendo discípulos pero sobre todo no olvidar que aun tenemos la promesa de resurresion esa promesa que nos ofrece vida eterna.
Lent is the time that precedes and is preparation before celebrating Easter, time to listen to the word of God, time to prepare for a baptism of reconciliation with God and with siblings in Christ, time to resort to the weapons of Christian penance: prayer and fasting.
For some others it is time for conversion, time for change.
For others, the sacred the forty days is more profound, they examine more in depth the mystery of the exodus and focus their attention more on the passion and death of the Lord.
A year ago we started with this virus that paralyzed the whole world, it kept many of us locked up for months, left them without work, some of us became victims of this contagion, in short, we are all harmed by this powerful virus.
In these moments of Lent we can see the suffering that Chucho had to go through (that’s what those who bear the name of Jesus in Mexico are called), that despite being a king the Son of the highest came to suffer and die here on earth – Jesus who was perfect and suffered for the wickedness of humanity.
Within my congregation I can see that my people suffer, the change of country, the language barrier, suffering from hunger, lack of housing, lack of opportunity at work, racism, and bad treatment among our own race. My people who suffer and are Mexicans complain. When we are going through a bad situation we always use this phrase, “if they sacrificed Jesus Christ, who was the son of God, what awaits the rest of humanity.”
We suffered during these times of calamity, but at the same time we see that the sacrifice of Jesus was not in vain. During the first months of the pandemic for the members of the people of God, they were difficult times because they work in hotels and restaurants, places that stopped operating due to lack of customers or some closed for months and many were left without work.
But within these difficult times for the Latino community, there we also saw God’s love and mercy for the Latino community. We saw how Christ Jesus walked with us at every moment, we saw the love of others towards our community. As soon as we sent an email to our sister churches we received their response with donations. Thanks to these donations we were able to feed up to forty families per week. I am talking about this because this greatly strengthened the faith of some members of our congregation, and brought a new family to the church. For me a new family means a lot since in these times it is very difficult for people to be interested in the word of God, especially my Latino community who think only of working to get ahead in this country.
In this time of Lent our goal as a congregation is to remember that Jesus died to pay for our sins, and we are here to continue the ministry of making disciples, but above all not forget that we still have the promise of resurrection, that promise that he offers us – eternal life.
