Lutherans Outdoors in South Dakota, the ELCA camping ministry of South Dakota, welcomes all to explore and experience Christ’s love in community and creation.  With three camps across the state, Lutherans Outdoors offers many different types of experiences for all ages.

Lutheran Social Services of South Dakota

Lutheran Social Services of South Dakota responds to changing needs in South Dakota communities. Our mission: Inspired by God’s love, we care for, support and strengthen individuals, families and communities.  LSS touches the lives of South Dakotans nearly 50,000 times each year with a variety of programs and services statewide. LSS is one of the largest private non-profit social service agencies in South Dakota. LSS serves people of all ages, faiths, races and economic status with professional, confidential and affordable services.

Luther Seminary

Luther Seminary, located in St. Paul, Minnesota, is the largest ELCA Seminary.  It is a community centered in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and a place where theological learning is engaged with heart, mind and spirit.  Luther Seminary listens to the needs of the 21st century church and responds by sending leaders trained with a deep biblical and missional understanding to lead and serve in God’s world.

 Good Samaritan Society

With more than 240 locations across the country, The Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society is the largest not-for-profit provider of senior care and services in the United States. They have more than 27,000 people of all beliefs and faiths call us home. Founded in 1922, they have a rich history of faith and belief in their mission to share God’s love in word and deed by providing shelter and supportive services to older persons and others in need, believing that “In Christ’s Love, Everyone Is Someone.”

Chapel in the Hills

Chapel in the Hills is a historic Norwegian Chapel located in the Black Hills of South Dakota.  The chapel was dedicated on July 6, 1969, and it served as the home of Lutheran Vespers until 1975 when the radio program was moved to Minneapolis home of the American Lutheran Church at the time. At that time a non-profit corporation took over operation of the Chapel in the Hills and operates it to this day.  Today the Chapel sees 20,000 to 25,000 visitors ayear and hosts over 100 weddings each year along with renewal of vows, baptisms, and memorial services.

Heartland Ephphatha

The mission of Heartland Ephphatha is to make worship, Bible study, and fellowship opportunities available to all people in South Dakota and Southwest Minnesota who are Deaf and hard of hearing and their hearing families and friends regardless of denomination or affiliation.

Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service

For more than 80 years, Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service (LIRS) has offered welcome and hope to more than half a million refugees. Since 1939, LIRS has transformed lives, with the support of people like you, to welcome the most vulnerable to the United States — from sea to shining sea. Together with partners like you, the LIRS has supported, equipped and empowered these new Americans, while advocating for policy that protects all of God’s children. It’s mission statement is: “As a witness to God’s love for all people, we stand with and advocate for migrants and refugees, transforming communities through ministries of service and justice.”
