Retired Pastor Alden Henry Hovda, 92, of Sioux Falls, passed away, Thursday, October 8, 2015 at the Sanford Hospice. Pastor Hovda served First Lutheran in Volga, SD and Lake Campbell congregation near Volga from 1950-1953. He later served Trinity Lutheran in Madison, SD from 1959-1967.
The family will be present for a visitation from 5-7, on Friday, October 16 at Miller Funeral Home, 507 S. Main Avenue. Memories will be shared at 7:00 pm. A private family burial will be held at 10 am at Woodlawn Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 17 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 909 West 33rd Street, Sioux Falls, SD. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Joanne and Alden Hovda Music and Ministry Scholarship at Augustana University. (Augielink.com/gift)
