Rev. Charlie Bunk will replace Rev. Natanael Lizarazo as Coordinator of Companion Synod Relations for the South Dakota Synod on September 1, 2016. Charlie and his wife, Barbara Bunk, have served part-time at Our Savior’s Lutheran in Waubay and American Lutheran in Webster, SD as interim pastors. They both have spent 10 of their 37 years in ministry overseas in Cameroon, Senegal, and France. Previous to becoming Companion Synod Coordinator, Charlie served as a member of the Companion Synod Committee.
Charlie is excited to be starting his new role with our Companion Synods and is looking forward to furthering the relationship with our sisters and brothers in faith overseas. He will be visiting our companion church, Iglesia Luterana de Fe est Esperanza – ILFE, for the Reformation Festival in October and then will be traveling to Cameroon with other members of the South Dakota Synod in February of 2017.
