The Third Plenary Session is complete.
Bishop Zellmer introduced the Third Plenary Session immediately after morning worship. He welcomed Lutherans Outdoors (LO) Board of Directors to the floor to hold their annual meeting.
Rev. Layne Nelson, Lutherans Outdoors executive director, presided over the LO annual meeting. The Lutherans Outdoors 2013 Summer Theme is: “God Is, Right Here, Right Now!” Rev. Nelson announced that Atlantic Mountain Ranch will close after the 2013 summer camp season. Joy Ranch has just wrapped up its first year, and it has far exceeded the expectations of LO.
Rev. Paul Rohde, campus pastor at Augustana College, gave a greeting from the school, which is owned by the ELCA. Augustana College is going on 153 years as an institution. “I want to thank you for all the ways you surround, support and receive our work. To minister in a place like this is to watch all things become new. We teach to love God with hearts and minds.”
