From the SD Synod Companion Synods Committee:

Thankful greetings to you, the missionary people of God throughout our South Dakota Synod!  We thank you on behalf of our Companion Synods Committee and of our Companion Synods themselves!

As we prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving, Advent, Christmas and the end of another year, we are entrusting to you the mission opportunities among the Lutheran Church of Faith & Hope of Nicaragua and The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Cameroon. At this time of the year when gift-giving becomes part of our celebrations, we pray that such generosity will also include the ongoing mission needs of our Companions in Nicaragua and Cameroon. Also as congregations and different ministries review their annual budgets, it is not unusual to find they still have funds that were not spent. Please consider our Companion Synods as recipients of your generosity!

Please download and share the updated Companion Synod bulletin insert highlighting specific mission priorities among our Companions in Nicaragua and Cameroon and the level of needed funding.  We encourage congregations to use this resource during worship services before the end of year, to consider free will offerings, uplift our Companion Synods in the public prayers and to include them in the annual budget of your congregations.

Please send your gifts to our South Dakota Synod clearly earmarked for any specific mission project. Undesignated gifts are always welcome and allow our Companion Synods Committee to allocate resources where they are most needed. If you have questions, feel free to contact Pr. Natanael Lizarazo at companion-synod@sdsynod.org or via phone at 605-261-7450.

Last but not least, we praise God for your ongoing mission generosity which, as the Apostle Paul states, “overflows in many thanksgivings to God” (2 Corinthians 9:12) among our brothers and sisters in Nicaragua and Cameroon. On behalf of our Companion Synods Committee, blessed Thanksgiving, Advent, Christmas and New Year 2016. May these celebrations remind us all of the most precious gift of all, Jesus, the Child of Bethlehem, God with us at all times!
